Giving Back
THE FIVE PROJECT

The Five Project began in December 2020, during the height of COVID, as a way to support local artists and makers who had lost the ability to sell their work in person. Driven by my love of the arts community, I created a fundraising initiative that could give back twice: funds raised were used to purchase goods directly from local artisans, and those goods were then donated to a community organization in need. For the first Five Project, I partnered with the Red Door Family Shelter in December 2020.

FIRSTHAND FAIR ART MARKET

For 10+ years, I was a Co-Creator and Curator of Firsthand Fair, a Toronto art market built around supporting local artists and makers. We brought markets into communities across the city, giving independent artisans opportunities to connect with new audiences while also raising funds and awareness for causes we cared about. A portion of our fees was reinvested back into the arts through charities and community arts initiatives.
